Job Summary

The PSR Safety Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment during Parish School of Religion (PSR) sessions. This role supports the safety of students, volunteers, and families by monitoring the premises and assisting with traffic flow during arrival and dismissal times. The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and proactive in ensuring the well-being of all participants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety checks throughout the school campus, including inside the building and outdoor areas

  • Monitor hallways, entrances, and surrounding property during PSR sessions

  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to the Assistant to the Director of Faith Formation

  • Assist with the drop-off and pick-up process by directing traffic and ensuring safe student entry and exit

  • Observe for and report any suspicious activity or vehicles on parish grounds

  • Respond appropriately to situations involving illness or injury, notifying appropriate personnel as needed

  • Work collaboratively with PSR staff and volunteers to support a secure environment

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Prior experience in security, supervision, or child safety is a plus

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency or unexpected situations

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

  • Understanding of and respect for the values and mission of the Catholic Church
