Job Summary

The Pre-K Aide supports the lead Pre-Kindergarten teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered learning environment for young children. This role includes assisting with classroom instruction, supervising children, helping with classroom organization, and promoting spiritual, emotional, social, and academic development in accordance with Catholic values and teachings.

Job Responsibilities

Classroom Support:

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans that align with both academic and Catholic faith-based goals.

  • Help set up, organize, and maintain learning centers and classroom materials.

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students needing additional help.

Child Supervision:

  • Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, bathroom breaks, and nap time.

  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

Faith Formation:

  • Support and model Catholic teachings, prayers, and traditions during daily routines.

  • Encourage positive moral behavior consistent with the values of the Catholic Church.

Behavior Management:

  • Assist in maintaining classroom discipline using positive guidance strategies.

  • Help children develop social-emotional skills, including cooperation, empathy, and conflict resolution.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the lead teacher and staff to ensure consistency in classroom management and instruction.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in a structured environment.

  • Practicing Catholic or supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education.

  • Ability to follow directions, work as a team, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Must pass background checks and child protection clearances required by the Diocese/Archdiocese.
