Job Summary

The Aftercare Coordinator is responsible for managing and supervising the after-school care program ensures a safe, engaging, and faith-filled environment for students. The coordinator plans daily activities, oversees staff and student interactions

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all students in the aftercare program.

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including homework time, crafts, games, and outdoor play.

  • Manage daily sign-in and sign-out procedures, ensuring accurate attendance records.

  • Maintain discipline and promote respectful, kind behavior aligned with Catholic values.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and school administration regarding student behavior, scheduling, and program updates.

  • Oversee and train aftercare assistants or volunteers.

  • Monitor snacks, materials, and supplies, and ensure cleanliness of the aftercare space.

  • Respond appropriately to minor injuries or incidents and follow school protocol for emergencies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education or child development preferred.

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.

  • Practicing Catholic or respectful of Catholic values and willing to support the school’s mission.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage a team and maintain a structured, nurturing environment.
