Job Summary

The Kindergarten Teacher at a Catholic school plays a vital role in laying the academic and spiritual foundation for young learners. Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that meet curriculum standards and support Catholic identity

  • Foster a safe, structured, and joyful classroom atmosphere rooted in Christian values

  • Integrate prayer, Gospel values, and Catholic teachings into classroom activities

  • Support students’ faith formation in collaboration with the school’s religious education program

  • Assess student progress regularly and differentiate instruction to meet individual needs

  • Communicate consistently with parents regarding student development, classroom events, and school expectations

  • Manage classroom behavior in a positive and respectful manner

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enrich student learning

  • Participate in school-wide liturgies, events, and professional development

  • Maintain accurate student records and meet reporting requirements

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (required)

  • State teaching certification (as required by the diocese or state)

  • Practicing Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education

  • Prior experience working with young children in a school setting preferred

  • Knowledge of child development, early literacy, numeracy, and classroom management techniques

  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
