Job Summary

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Troy is hiring a Middle School Math Teacher. The successful candidate is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in mathematics for grades while integrating Catholic values and promoting the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily math lessons aligned with curriculum standards and Catholic educational goals.

  • Teach courses such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and general math to middle school students.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.

  • Create a classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and a love of learning.

  • Incorporate technology, manipulatives, and real-world applications into instruction.

  • Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators.

  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer, and faith formation activities as a faculty member.

  • Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular initiatives, student support, and school-wide events.

  • Maintain accurate records and follow school and diocesan policies, including classroom management and grading procedures.

  • Supervise students in and outside the classroom as needed, including lunch, recess, and field trips.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or Mathematics required; teaching credential preferred.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to integrate faith, critical thinking, and creativity into instructional practices.

  • Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check required.
