Job Summary
The Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach supports the Head Coach in developing a competitive, positive, and student-centered volleyball program. This role focuses on athlete skill development, team strategy, and fostering sportsmanship, leadership, and academic responsibility among student-athletes.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and training sessions

Help develop individual and team volleyball skills, including fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning

Support game preparation, in-game coaching, and post-game evaluation

Reinforce team rules, school policies, and athletic department expectations

Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for opponents and officials

Assist with supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and travel

Support communication with players, parents, and school staff as directed by the Head Coach

Help maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice facilities

Encourage academic success and positive character development of student-athletes
Job Requirements

Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies

Previous volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred

Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and school staff

Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills

Commitment to student safety, inclusion, and development

Ability to comply with all school district, league, and state athletic association requirements
