Job Summary

The Driver safely transports students, staff, and authorized passengers to and from school, extracurricular activities, and school-sponsored events. This role supports the mission and values of the Catholic high school by promoting safety, responsibility, courtesy, and respect while representing the school community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a school bus or school vehicle along assigned routes and schedules.

  • Transport students to and from school, athletic events, retreats, field trips, and other approved activities.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting mechanical or safety concerns promptly.

  • Maintain discipline and ensure orderly conduct of passengers following school policies and Catholic values of respect and dignity.

  • Assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle when needed.

  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws and school transportation regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, passenger counts, and trip logs as required.

  • Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and administrators regarding transportation issues.

  • Keep the vehicle clean, safe, and properly fueled.

  • Support the school’s mission by modeling ethical behavior, responsibility, and respect.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type and currently hold, or be willing to obtain, a Class E Chauffeur License 

  • Clean driving record with no major violations.

  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and any required training.

  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and student supervision.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and patience when working with high school students.

  • Prior experience driving school buses or student transport vehicles preferred.
