Job Summary
St. Francis Borgia High School seeks a passionate, organized, and faith-filled Freshman Boys Volleyball Coach to lead and develop student-athletes at the introductory high school level. The coach will focus on skill development, fundamentals, teamwork, and character formation while supporting the mission of Catholic education and preparing athletes for progression within the volleyball program.
Job Responsibilities

Plan and conduct age-appropriate practices that emphasize fundamentals, skill development, physical fitness, and teamwork

Teach basic volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies while fostering a love for the game

Supervise and manage student-athletes during practices, games, and team travel

Promote good sportsmanship, respect, discipline, and Catholic values on and off the court

Serve as a positive role model and mentor, supporting the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of student-athletes

Collaborate with the Athletic Director and varsity/JV coaches to ensure consistency and alignment within the boys volleyball program

Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and team needs

Maintain equipment and ensure a safe environment for all student-athletes

Follow all school, league, and diocesan policies, including Safe Environment requirements

Support and model Christian behavior consistent with the mission of St. Francis Borgia High School
Job Requirements

Prior coaching or playing experience in volleyball preferred

Knowledge of fundamental volleyball skills, rules, and techniques

Ability to teach, motivate, and work effectively with high school–aged students

Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the values and teachings of the Catholic Church

Demonstrated integrity, patience, fairness, and strong communication skills

Willingness to work collaboratively within a multi-level volleyball program
-
Must complete all required diocesan Safe Environment training and background checks

First Aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
