Job Summary
The Middle School English Teacher is responsible for teaching English Language Arts (ELA) to students in a way that integrates Catholic values with rigorous academic standards. The teacher cultivates students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills while fostering a Christ-centered classroom environment that promotes personal growth and moral development.
Job Responsibilities
Assessment and Feedback:

Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning.

Provide constructive, timely feedback to support student progress.

Maintain accurate grade records and communicate student performance to parents and administration.
Classroom Management:

Establish a respectful, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment consistent with Catholic values.

Promote responsibility, accountability, and kindness among students.

Implement school-wide behavior expectations and policies with consistency and fairness.
Collaboration and Communication:

Communicate regularly and effectively with parents about student progress and classroom updates.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support cross-curricular connections and student success.

Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school functions as required.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field

Valid teaching certification (state or diocesan) appropriate to grade level.

Prior teaching experience, especially in middle school or Catholic school settings, is strongly preferred.

Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Familiarity with literature appropriate for middle school and Catholic moral teaching.
