Job Summary

The Part-Time Finance Office Assistant supports the daily financial operations of the organization by assisting with accounts payable, cash receipts, reconciliations, and recordkeeping. This position ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance in all financial transactions while providing general administrative support to the Business Director and President.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Count and prepare corresponding cash receipts for deposits.
  • Process Accounts Payable invoices into Lawson and send data reports to the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
  • Communicate with the Archdiocese of St. Louis about creating new vendors and changing addresses when necessary.
  • File accounts payable invoices.
  • Track employee sick/vacation time used.
  • Reconcile certain general ledger accounts.
  • Provide general support to the Business Director and the President if required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community in a Catholic school setting.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related administrative work preferred.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software (Lawson experience a plus).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial data.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior in handling sensitive information.

  • Strong communication skills for coordination with staff and external partners.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a part-time role.
