Physical Education Teacher

Job Summary

The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for providing a well-rounded, faith-centered physical education program that promotes physical fitness, health, and wellness while reinforcing Catholic values. This role emphasizes the development of students' physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, encouraging lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyles.

Job Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum:

• Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive physical education lessons that meet state and diocesan standards.

• Teach a wide range of physical activities, including team sports, individual fitness, health education, and lifetime recreational activities.

• Adapt lessons to meet the diverse physical abilities and needs of all students, promoting inclusivity and participation.

• Integrate Catholic values, such as respect for one’s body and the dignity of others, into physical education lessons.

• Foster a spirit of sportsmanship, collaboration, and ethical competition in all physical activities.

Classroom and Physical Activity Management:

• Create and maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment that promotes physical activity and student engagement.

• Establish and reinforce behavior expectations consistent with the school's Catholic mission, emphasizing respect, integrity, and fairness.

• Supervise students during physical activities, ensuring safety and proper technique.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field

• Valid teaching certification or licensure in Physical Education.

• Experience teaching at the high school level, especially in a Catholic or private school setting, is preferred.

• Passion for fitness, health, and wellness, with the ability to engage and inspire students.

• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

• Practicing Catholic preferred; must be committed to the Catholic mission and values of the school.
