Job Summary

The Preschool Aide supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supervising children, maintaining cleanliness and order, and fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive development of students in alignment with the school’s educational goals.

Job Responsibilities

Classroom Support

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and organizing classroom materials and activities.

  • Support daily routines, including circle time, learning centers, art projects, and outdoor play.

  • Help implement lesson plans and encourage age-appropriate learning and exploration.

Child Supervision & Care

  • Supervise children to ensure a safe and welcoming environment at all times.

  • Assist with basic care needs such as handwashing, toileting, snacks, and naptime.

  • Promote positive behavior and guide children in developing social skills and emotional regulation.

Classroom Environment

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.

  • Sanitize toys, materials, and surfaces daily, following health and safety protocols.

  • Monitor supplies and report needs to the Lead Teacher or Director.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure consistency and support for all students.

  • Maintain a respectful and professional relationship with children, families, and staff.

  • Report any concerns about child development, behavior, or safety to the Lead Teacher or Director.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with young children in a preschool, daycare, or similar setting.

  • Patience, flexibility, and a love for working with children.

  • Ability to pass a background check
