The President of St. Francis Borgia High School serves as an outward-facing entrepreneur, responsible for strategic planning, relationship-building, and resource development to advance the school’s mission. This executive leadership role ensures the effective operation of the school while fostering external relations, financial sustainability, and above all else, a strong Catholic identity. The President oversees business operations, advancement, marketing, facilities, and board development while collaborating closely with the principal on educational and academic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Advancement & Development

  • Lead fundraising and donor development efforts, working closely with the Advancement Office to secure major gifts and alumni contributions.
  • Guide and support the Director of Advancement, Director of Admissions, and the Director of Communications in meeting key fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Oversee stakeholder events and annual giving campaigns, ensuring donor stewardship and long-term support.
  • Cultivate relationships with major donors and community partners to enhance financial sustainability.

Strategic Leadership & Board Engagement

  • Lead the development and execution of a strategic five-year plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors and administrative leadership.
  • Recruit and maintain alumni stakeholders to strengthen the Advisory Board Committees and/or Governing Board and enhance enrollment and donor engagement.
  • Form and oversee teams dedicated to faith formation, donor development, strategic planning, and finances.

Faith Formation & Catholic Identity

  • Serve as a Christian role model, promoting a faith-centered culture within the school community. Adhere to all aspects of public behavior and statements consistent with the Christian Witness Statement found in the Employee Handbook. (‘Witness Statement for those who Serve in Catholic Education’)
  • Support spiritual development programs for students and faculty in partnership with the Campus Ministry Office.
  • Implement and monitor the school’s philosophy and mission statement.
  • Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan policies on Catholic Identity and effective school governance and leadership.

Business & Financial Management

  • Oversee financial operations, including tuition collection, budgeting, and financial reporting in collaboration with the Business Manager and Finance Committee (Board of Directors).
  • Manage scholarships, tuition assistance, and grants to support student accessibility.
  • Supervise facility maintenance, food service operations, and technology infrastructure.
  • Approve and sign contracts with third-party vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Public Relations & Marketing

  • Serve as the public face of St. Francis Borgia High School, fostering relationships with the Archdiocese of St. Louis, parish schools, alumni, and the broader community.
  • Oversee marketing, branding, and communications strategies to enhance enrollment and community engagement.
  • Represent the school at professional, religious, and social events to maintain a strong external presence.

Human Resources & Organizational Leadership

  • Supervise and evaluate senior staff and administrative leadership to ensure strong operational performance.
  • Work with the principal to oversee faculty and staff development, including evaluations and strategic improvements towards academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain fair and ethical employment practices aligned with Archdiocesan policies and professional, confidential business practices.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Practicing Catholic with a commitment to faith-based education and Catholic values.
  • Proven transferrable leadership experience in education, nonprofit management, or business administration.
  • Strong financial acumen, fundraising experience, and the ability to develop and execute strategic plans and partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, public relations, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in board leadership, enrollment management, and institutional advancement is desired.
