Job Summary

The Seasonal Parish Custodian/Maintenance worker is responsible for ensuring the parish grounds and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained during peak seasons or high-traffic times. This role supports the overall mission of the parish by helping provide a welcoming and functional environment for worship, events, and daily operations.

Job Responsibilities

Custodial Duties:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, kitchen areas, and common spaces.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.

  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from all areas.

  • Set up and tear down furniture for parish events, masses, or meetings.

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replacements when needed.

Maintenance Duties:

  • Perform basic repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, minor painting).

  • Assist with lawn care, weeding, watering, and snow/ice removal (if applicable).

  • Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and report issues to the supervisor.

  • Ensure outdoor grounds are tidy and welcoming.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and respectful of the parish setting.
