Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher at St. Francis Borgia Grade School provides instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons and maintain classroom order in accordance with the teacher’s written plans.
- Uphold and support the Catholic identity, mission, and values of the school.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunch areas, and during recess or other activities as assigned.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student and school matters.
- Leave notes or feedback for the regular teacher regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Attend to minor disciplinary issues and refer serious infractions to administration.
- Lead or participate in prayer or liturgical activities when appropriate
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred).
- Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and follow lesson plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
