Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the care, upkeep, and efficient operation of the buildings, grounds, and facilities of [Parish Name]. The technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, and custodial duties to support a clean, safe, and reverent environment for worship, ministry, and community events, in alignment with the Catholic Church’s mission and values.

Job Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance

  • Perform minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and lighting systems.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.

  • Inspect and troubleshoot maintenance issues and resolve them in a timely manner.

  • Maintain parish buildings including the church, rectory, parish office, school (if applicable), and any auxiliary facilities.

Teamwork & Parish Life

  • Work cooperatively with parish staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.

  • Treat all parishioners and visitors with courtesy and respect.

  • Support the reverence of sacred spaces by maintaining a clean and respectful environment.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in building maintenance or a similar role.

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
