Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of the parish buildings and grounds, including the church, rectory, parish office, school (if applicable), and other facilities. This role supports the mission of the Catholic Church by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship, education, and parish life.

Job Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Repairs

  • Conduct routine inspections of all parish facilities.

  • Perform or coordinate general repairs (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC).

  • Maintain lighting, heating, cooling, and fire safety systems.

  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs in a timely manner.

Groundskeeping

  • Oversee the care of church grounds, landscaping, snow removal, and parking lots.

  • Coordinate seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing, irrigation, and storm preparation.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications a plus.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance or facility management.

  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and safety protocols.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, plan, and manage multiple priorities.

  • Familiarity with Catholic parish life and willingness to support its mission.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
