Job Summary

The Paraprofessional (Aide) supports teachers and staff by providing instructional, behavioral, and clerical assistance to students in the classroom and throughout the school. The Aide helps create an inclusive, supportive learning environment to promote student success academically, socially, and emotionally.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support under the guidance of certified teachers.

• Assist students with classroom tasks, assignments, and assessments.

• Support students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 Plans.

• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, buses, and during arrival/dismissal times.

• Assist with the implementation of behavior management strategies.

• Help prepare classroom materials and organize instructional resources.

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

• Provide personal care and mobility assistance as required (especially in special education settings).

• Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff.

• Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.

• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a collaborative team.

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage classroom behaviors calmly and effectively.

• Ability to lift, move, or assist students with physical or mobility needs (if applicable).

• Basic computer and technology skills for supporting student learning.
