Job Summary

St. Theodore Catholic Church is seeking a full-time Evangelization and Communications Coordinator. In this role, you’ll promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ by:

  • Creating compelling communication through the parish bulletin, website, social media, and email newsletters
  • Promoting opportunities for souls to encounter Jesus in prayer and discipleship
  • Coordinating our volunteers to enable them to embrace the mission of the parish
  • Coordinating engaging spiritual events 

You’ll also support the parish office in offering a joyful, welcoming experience to all who contact or visit us — making it easy for people to follow Jesus and grow in faith. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits available. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Job Responsibilities

  •  Be an active, committed, faith-filled Catholic.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content and promotional materials.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems in order to:
    • Create the weekly bulletin ○ Create postings and advertisements for our events so they can be in the bulletin and online
    • Create the weekly email blasts for the Church and School
    • Create other email blasts as needed
  • Possess knowledge of how a Catholic parish operates to effectively communicate with parishioners and encourage new members to join
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to cover parish events and activities.
  • Be able to update a website
  • Possess organization skills to:
    • Coordinate Volunteers
    • Ensure that the bulletin is always submitted on time and that the e-newsletters are emailed at the same time each week
    • Keep track of volunteers and how many shifts they have worked
  • Collaborate well with the pastor, principal, bookkeeper, secretary, and other employees
  • Will need to be able to work with our platforms in:
    • Excel
    • Flocknote
    • Canva
  • Be able to solicit feedback from parishioners through surveys and evaluations 

Job Requirements

  • Regular Responsibilities:
    • Manage the parish's social media accounts and website, ensuring regular updates and engaging content to reach and connect with a diverse audience.
    • Assist with administrative tasks related to communication, such as maintaining contact lists, scheduling posts, and tracking analytics.
    • Update the Parish LED Sign with Invitations to the Gospel, Inspirational Messages, and Advertisements for Parish Ministries
    • Maintain and update the Website
    • Assists the office assistant with phone calls, caring for people who walk in as needed
    • Availability to photograph different parish events ○ Maintain the lists of current volunteer ministers for all parish ministries.
    • Coordinate Liturgy Schedules, including deacon, lector, server, and usher schedules
    • Develops recruitment programs for parish organizations as needed
    • Maintains our Flocknote system to ensure all registered parishioners and applicable parties are properly included and grouped.
    • Completes other tasks as assigned by the pastor.
  • Weekly 
    • Create the bulletin and submit it by the scheduled date to our provider each week
    • Create and send an email blast update for the parish each week
    • Create and send an email blast update for the school each week 
  • Monthly
    • Create and send an email blast of the month’s opportunities to grow closer to Jesus through adoration, small groups, and invitations to other faith-building events.
    • Promote the day of adoration and maintain the list of adorers
    • Coordinate a spiritual engagement for parishioners and families 
  • Yearly Responsibilities 
    • Plan and manage the volunteers for the Summer Totus Tuus Program
    • Coordinate October Stewardship Renewal, including: 
      • The presentation of the past year's use of gifts and talents for the parish;
      • Invitation for participation in the service life of the parish
      • Request for increased offertory
