Job Summary

St. Joseph School, a faith-based academic community, is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and faith-filled Part-Time Middle School Science Teacher to instruct students in grades 5 through 8. The ideal candidate will foster a love of science through engaging and rigorous instruction while supporting the moral and spiritual formation of students in alignment with Catholic teachings.

Job Responsibilities

  • Teach science classes to students in grades 5–8, covering topics in life science, earth science, physical science, and basic chemistry/physics.

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and diocesan standards.

  • Integrate Catholic values into curriculum and classroom environment.

  • Create a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom culture that reflects the school's mission.

  • Assess student performance regularly and provide feedback to students and parents.

  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and technology to reach all learners.

  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support schoolwide initiatives.

  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field

  • Valid teaching certification (state or diocesan) or the ability to obtain one.

  • Experience teaching middle school students, preferably in a Catholic or private school setting.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred, with a willingness to support and model Catholic values.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Ability to plan and implement hands-on experiments and labs.

  • Commitment to academic excellence and student growth.
