Job Summary

St. Patrick Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Preschool Aide to assist the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, structured, and Christ-centered learning environment. The Preschool Aide supports instructional activities, supervises students, and helps integrate Catholic values into daily routines and classroom experiences. 

Job Responsibilities

Classroom Support

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, activities, and routines.

  • Help set up and clean up learning centers, materials, and classroom spaces.

  • Provide individual and small-group support during academic and play-based instruction.

Child Supervision & Care

  • Monitor children to ensure safety, positive interactions, and engagement.

  • Assist with restroom breaks, handwashing, snack/lunch routines, and nap time.

  • Foster a respectful and caring environment in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Faith Integration

  • Participate in classroom prayer, religious songs, and celebrations of the liturgical year.

  • Support the spiritual development of children by modeling Christian behavior.

  • Respect and uphold the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church in word and action.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with the lead teacher regarding student needs and progress.

  • Work cooperatively with school staff and administrators.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with children and families.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of child development and classroom management.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred or supportive of the Catholic Church’s mission and values.

  • Ability to pass all required background checks and complete required trainings (e.g., VIRTUS, CPR/First Aid).
