Job Summary
The Catholic Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, faith-filled, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children (ages 3–5). This position integrates Catholic values and teachings into all aspects of the classroom while supporting the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
Job Responsibilities

Plan and implement daily lessons that incorporate both early childhood education best practices and Catholic faith formation.

Teach basic skills such as letters, numbers, colors, and shapes, along with age-appropriate religious concepts (e.g., God’s love, prayer, kindness, saints).

Lead children in daily prayer, songs, Bible stories, and religious activities.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom that reflects Catholic values and is conducive to learning and play.

Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

Observe and assess student development and communicate progress to parents.

Collaborate with staff to plan school-wide events, liturgies, and seasonal celebrations (e.g., Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter).

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, snack times, and transitions.

Maintain open, professional communication with parents, staff, and administrators.

Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and religious formation opportunities.

Uphold and model Catholic teachings, morals, and values in all interactions.
Job Requirements

Practicing Catholic who supports the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred).

Experience working with preschool-aged children.

Familiarity with age-appropriate instructional methods and behavior management.

Ability to incorporate faith and religious themes into classroom activities.

Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check (required).

Patience, creativity, strong communication skills, and a caring nature.
